April 7, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) –Web hosting provider ‘The Planet’ , a ‘server-hosting’ company offering dedicated and co-located options through its own datacenters, has announced that it has chosen Penguin hardware to enhance the range of dedicated products it offers. According to the company the customizable Penguin hardware makes for the company’s ‘fastest, most powerful server offering ever.’ The new servers will enable The Planet to meet demand for dedicated servers for business and gaming.

"Penguin servers are designed and custom built for high volume dedicated hosting environments like ours," suggested The Planet’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "And because the servers were pre-integrated by Penguin's experts, we can deliver increased reliability through a superior quality control process. This allows us to focus on tailoring servers to each customer's unique needs and providing even more value to our customers with these high end machines."

"We understand The Planet's goal of value-add; that is why we went the extra mile by pre-testing and delivering a network ready solution for The Planet so they were up and running fast," Penguin Computing’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Services, Bill Cook. "Penguin servers also offer customers flexibility because they use standards-based components that scale out easily to connect to most existing infrastructures for fast deployment. Even more importantly to customers like The Planet, our tool-less case designs and powerful Dual-Core AMD Opteron processor technology deliver great performance per unit of space, which is critically important to web hosting companies for whom servers are both a source of revenue and a cost of goods sold."

Due to demand The Planet has increased the size of its datacenters to 200,000 square feet over the last 18 months. This growth has been recognized with the company listed in rankings such as Inc. 500, Deloitte Technology Fast 500 and the Metroplex Technology Business Council Tech Titans/Tech Fast 50.
