Go Daddy, the world's largest domain name registrar and leading Web hosting provider, is building out a new customer care facility near Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It is expected to officially open this spring and will be dedicated to providing customers with Go Daddy's legendary industry-best support.
Go Daddy serves more than 7.5 million customers worldwide. Currently, Go Daddy operates customer care facilities in Ariz., including at its corporate headquarters in Scottsdale, as well as nearby centers in Tempe and Gilbert.
Go Daddy is planning to hire an estimated 60 people in the next eight weeks for its new customer care center in Iowa. The new facility accommodates 500 employees. Go Daddy plans to expand its workforce over a period of months to eventually fill the new building.
The company has operated an office in Cedar Rapids for close to nine years already. People in that office work for Go Daddy's marketing, development, legal and business intelligence departments and are set to join the customer care employees at the new office located at 1 Parsons Drive in Hiawatha.
Address sound familiar? The two-story building used to be home to Parsons Technology, a business Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons developed, operated and sold 15 years ago.
"I'm back baby," Parsons said of the 1 Parsons Drive purchase. "We bought this building because it made business sense, but I'll admit it's nice to get back to 1 Parsons Drive."
The 50,000-square-foot office space is big enough for further expansion, and given recent history, that will be important in the near future. Last year, Go Daddy expanded its Ariz. facilities and opened a Data Center in the Netherlands. The company also has offices in Denver, Colo. and Washington, D.C.
"Iowa is a great place from which to recruit quality people," said Vice President of Go Daddy Customer Care Miguel Lopez. "We expect to begin advertising the new open positions next month."
Go Daddy helps people and companies establish and enhance their online presence and is known for its top-notch customer service and affordability. "We know people like to communicate on the Internet, they like to play games and even shop online. But when it comes to learning things, like how to create a Web site for example, people much prefer to talk to a person," Parsons said.
Go Daddy does not outsource or offshore any of its more than 1,500 customer care positions. Keeping its employees in-house ensures Go Daddy has the most responsive customer support in the industry.
Iowa customer care positions are set to be online in February. People with a passion for technology are encouraged to apply at www.GoDaddy.com/Jobs. All new employees will receive extensive training.
More than 2,400 people currently work at Go Daddy. For the sixth consecutive year, Go Daddy is listed on Inc. magazine's "Inc. 500/5000" as one of the nation's fastest-growing privately held companies. Deloitte Technology recognizes Go Daddy as an innovative company with remarkable five-year revenue growth (2004-2008) and as one of the fastest growing technology companies. Go Daddy has also made the CNN Money list of Best Perks for employees.
