Web Hosting Provider Go Daddy Launches Metropolis

January 16, 2007
January 16, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider Go Daddy (https://www.godaddy.com) has launched Metropolis, it was announced yesterday. Metropolis is a new hosting community for Go Daddy web hosting customers that allows them to “install, manage, rate and review third-party hosted applications”.

Metropolis currently offers around 30 free software titles for Go Daddy customers to install for use through its Linux or Windows hosting accounts. These include blogs, forums, galleries and wikis. Each software option is evaluated and rated by other members of the community, providing guidance on its benefits. Webmasters do not need to download software, upload content or modify configuration files. The interface and configuration work to immediately update Go Daddy accounts.

"We're committed to making things easy for our customers,” said Warren Adelman, President and COO of Go Daddy. “Metropolis is a social tool. It helps users manage applications, but the key feature is the venue it creates for our customers to share experiences and make recommendations for others."
