Web Hosting Provider Go Daddy Signs New IndyCar Star

January 12, 2012
January 12, 2012 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Go Daddy, the world's largest provider of Web hosting, domain name registrations and net-new SSL Certificates, has signed IndyCar Rookie-of-the-Year James Hinchcliffe as its 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series driver. 'Hinch,' as he is known, is set to drive the GoDaddy.com No. 27 Chevrolet for the Andretti Autosport team next season, replacing Danica Patrick.

Hinchcliffe, who is from Toronto with both British and Canadian lineage, launched his IndyCar career in April. Last season, he started 16 races, posting three top-five finishes and seven top-10 finishes, earning him the 2011 Rookie-of-the-Year honors.

"I saw an article that said 'Hinch was a cinch' to drive our Go Daddy car," said Go Daddy Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Barb Rechterman. "I guess the many reasons Go Daddy wanted to put James behind the wheel are obvious ... he's tech savvy, personable, edgy and 100 percent competitive ... just like Go Daddy!"

The 25-year-old was looking for a new ride and hoped for a dynamic sponsor. "I have a lot of respect for Go Daddy," Hinchcliffe said. "Not only because they are one of the best sponsors in sports, in terms of activation, but also because they are a world leader in a highly competitive industry. They know how to take care of their customers. The Go Daddy sponsorship is an amazing way to start the New Year."

Go Daddy first joined the Andretti team in 2006. "Go Daddy has been a vital partner and friend of the Andretti family for years," said Michael Andretti, who is Chairman, President and CEO of Andretti Autosport. "James Hinchcliffe is a great talent. Our Go Daddy partnership will help give fans the excitement and entertainment they expect."

In addition to sponsoring James Hinchcliffe in the GoDaddy.com No. 27 IndyCar, Go Daddy also sponsors Mario, Michael and Marco Andretti as part of a three-generation spokesperson team to showcase Go Daddy products and services.
