Web Hosting Provider Go Daddy Testifies Before Congress About How to Protect Children from Online Predators

July 25, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider Go Daddy has testified before Congress about how to protect children from online predators, it was reported yesterday. Go Daddy explained the role of domain name registrars and web hosting providers in the fight against child pornography.

“The Go Daddy Group devotes substantial resources to working with law enforcement, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and others to help protect children from Internet predators,” explained Christine Jones, Go Daddy’s General Counsel in her testimony before the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation. “Exploitation of children online generally - and specifically child pornography - is a growing and unacceptable problem that must end, and we are committed to working with law enforcement to see to it that it happens.”

Go Daddy takes all steps necessary to stop online predators. The company has a “no unlawful conduct or improper use” clause in its web hosting service terms and often shuts down offending websites. The company also “responds to community tips about possible online predators” and “reports offending websites and registrants to both authorities and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children”.
