March 7, 2006 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Hurricane Electric, a Technical Service Provider whose services include co-location, dedicated servers and web hosting, has been mentioned as having a Top Ten Internet network (based on connectivity to the rest of the Internet) as recognized by fixedorbit.com's Knodes Index. Measured against a variety of statistics (relative size, IP address control, etc.), the company is regarded as having the tenth largest Internet network in the world.
"We are very excited about making it to the top 10," said Mike Leber, Hurricane Electric president. "We have been actively adding and upgrading exchange points around the world to give us better performance over our entire network. Our goal is to continue to make improvements to our global network so we will rank even higher."
The company now plans to upgrade its existing exchange points and open a new 208,000 square foot co-location facility to complement its three other facilities. The new facility will open in a few weeks.
