Web Hosting Provider iWeb Initiates Second Phase of Datacenter Expansion

October 1, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider iWeb has initiated the second phase of its datacenter expansion, the company reported recently. The initial phase of the center was successfully completed earlier this year and now houses hundreds of servers.

The second phase of iWeb datacenter, located in Saint-Léonard's industrial park on the island of Montréal, will further expand it’s the center’s capacity to at least 4000 dedicated servers and provide enough redundant power to fill 135 colocation racks. The center will also house new office space and a new Network Operation Center to manage and monitor network activities.

"Implementing the new equipments and installing the first servers in the new datacenter was completed according to schedule. Now, Phase Two will have to be completed during the second quarter of our new fiscal year in order to be able to maintain our current growth," added Mr. Leclair.

The datacenter expansion will be completed in the next 3 years bringing iWeb's premises to than 25,000 square foot with capacity to host almost 20,000 servers.
