March 20, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider Melbourne IT (http://www.melbourneit.com.au/) has replaced its email filtering service to fight “malicious traffic”, it was announced recently. The company had previously experienced substantial increases in spam email, as well as being subject to phishing attacks.
The company has adopted Cloudmark Authority as its new provider after live trials that included its email subscribers. According to the company, the Cloudmark trials indicated reduced levels of spam and a significant reduction in viruses being passed to customer mailboxes.
"Cloudmark proved much more effective than the other company, stopping 45 per cent of all messages compared to their 26%," said John Debrincat Managing Director of eCorner, Cloudmark distributor. "The Cloudmark solution reduced traffic to Melbourne IT's internal MTA and mail store by 19 per cent, had lower false positives and was able to process the same number of messages in less than half the time required by the competitor."
Cloudmark offers a network of more than 260 million mailboxes globally. Each mailbox provides feedback to the system on emails marked as spam. Real-time data is automatically updated every 45 seconds, providing protection from even the most recent spam and virus transmission.
