October 26, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – UK-based web hosting provider NuBlue Web Solutions (http://www.nublue.co.uk/) is offering video webmail to customers, it was reported recently. According to the company, it is the first UK hosting company to provide a service that enables emails with “image, motion and sound, from anywhere worldwide”.
The new NuBlue service does not require a software download and is offered to the company’s web hosting customers free of charge. The service offers a traditional webmail interface and only requires a webcam to operate.
"Video email has been around for a number of years and often involved costly additional technology, such as phones and software,” explained NuBlue’s Director of Digital Web Solutions, Mr. Michael Ashworth. “However, the technology has advanced and simplified, making it easier to deploy. As a result, we've been working on integrating the webcam application into our webmail system for a number of months. We believe we're the first UK hosting company to offer this service to customers - free of charge and with unlimited video emails - as part of our overall hosting package."
