Web Hosting Provider Server Intellect Adds Private SSL VPN to Dedicated Servers

November 21, 2006
November 21, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider Server Intellect (http://www.serverintellect.com) has added private Encrypted Virtual Private Networks (SSL VPN) to its dedicated servers, the company announced today.

To facilitate the new technology, the company’s servers have been fitted with additional network cards, allowing a private Local Area Network (LAN) to be created at Server Intellect’s datacenter. The network is comprised of Cisco 6500, 3500 and 2900 series switches and routers and has a dedicated gigabit network connection to the Internet. Dedicated server customers can create VPN connections directly to this LAN and no additional costs have been passed to customers. Access is available upon request making it as standard feature.

“The technology allows our dedicated server customers to connect to their servers on a completely private and anonymous network,” explained Managing Director of Server Intellect, Mr. Eric Pratt. “As we have installed a separate network card in every server, it is possible for our customers to disable public access to their servers while still retaining full access for themselves. We’ve essentially created an additional layer of the Internet solely for our customers’ use.”

“Ultimately, when our customers grow, we grow. That’s the spirit behind our business,” added Mr. Pratt.
