Web Hosting Provider ServerPlex Announces Initiative for Underprivileged Families

October 24, 2006 – (HOSTSEACH.COM) – Web hosting provider ServerPlex (http://www.serverplexonsite.com) has announced its collaboration with The Salvation Army (http://www.salvationarmy.org) to offer reconditioned computers for underprivileged families in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The initiative starts today and finishes November 20, 2006 during which time the company will collect new and used personal computers and monitors at its offices in San Mateo. The collected computers will be inspected and, if necessary, repaired by ServerPlex Networks’ subsidiary company, ServerPlex Onsite – a company that specializes in computer repair and maintenance.

“In today’s web-oriented culture, it has become increasingly important to have at the very least a working computer at home, but for many that simply isn’t a possibility,” explained ServerPlex’s Networks Business Development Manager, Mr. Robert Marhamat. “To say we are looking forward to this tremendous opportunity would be an understatement. There is without question enormous need, and we will be doing everything we can to make a significant difference in our community.”

The company and The Salvation Army aim to collect around 400 computers for distribution to families in mid December. “The families we help work hard to provide basic necessities their children, like food and clothing, and struggle to make ends meet,” said Claire Dunmore, Family Services Director for The Salvation Army in San Francisco. “They can't spend money on things like computers, which may seem extravagant, but are an increasingly common and necessary tool to help people move ahead in school and work. We are grateful for the generous staff at ServerPlex for helping to provide such a wonderful gift to these deserving families in need."
