SupraNet Communications, Inc. has acquired managed IT services provider Mad City Broadband. The company, whose services include fiber optic networks and high-speed wireless alongside data center management, colocation, virtual colocation, email and spam management, Internet connectivity and consulting services, finalized the purchase January 1, 2013.
Mad City Broadband, which specializes in fiber optic and high-speed wireless networks, is part of the Metropolitan Unified Fiber Network (MUFN) and manages wireless networks for Dane County Airport and the City of Madison. The company's assets and services have been transferred to SupraNet Communications, Inc. and its name changed.
Alongside increasing the company's geographical footprint, the acquisition enables SupraNet Communications to provide fiber optic Internet and high-speed wireless solutions to small and medium sized businesses in a more cost-effective fashion. The purchase will also allow the company to offer a wider range of services while maintaining current levels of service.
