November 28, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider Tucows (http://www.tucowsinc.com) has released a new version of its Platypus billing and subscriber management software. The software can be utilized by ISPs, web hosts, and others providing Internet-related services. Alongside subscriber management, billing and provisioning, Platypus 6.0 integrates with web hosting control panels such as cPanel, Plesk, H-Sphere, Hostopia and Ensim.

"By automating and driving business processes with Platypus our customers are better able to sell and provision additional services to new and existing customers," explained Tucows’ President and CEO Elliot Noss. "Platypus delivers an unprecedented level of niche functionality," added Bill Ford the company’s Director of Billing Solutions. "Our expertise is rooted in an intimate understanding of our customers and the business of providing Internet-related services."

Platypus 6.0 features include two-way communication that lets web hosts send and receive and store information in customer records. The system also makes provisioning or deprovisioning multiple services for a customer easier. It also allows hosting companies to enforce contract terms with early cancellation penalties and fixed or scaled contract penalties. In addition, Platypus 6.0 performs load balanced provisioning of end user control panels on web hosting servers.
