June 10, 2006 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Web hosting provider Verio UK has announced that it has won a government contract that will bring in revenues of around 6 million pounds. The company will offer web hosting, managed security and content distribution services to outsourcing and technology expert Xansa. The infrastructure Verio establishes will benefit three UK government departments - Directgov (Cabinet Office), the Department of Health and the Department of Education and Skills (DfES). The departments will be able to share development resources, create common functionality and allow re-use of components within the platform.
"NTT Communications was the obvious choice for hosting services. It is a large and stable company, has a flexible and pragmatic approach and an excellent reputation for service quality," suggested Xansas Commercial Development Director Willy Goldschmidt.
"This is a very important win for NTT Communications because it further solidifies our position as a strong player in the public sector market. Winning this contract based on our flexibility and service reputation is a positive reinforcement of our business approach," added Verio UKs Regional Director, Damian Skendrovic.
