March 24, 2006 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Web hosting provider Website Source (http://www.websitesource.com) has announced the launch of improved safeguards against Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. The company has acquired two Cisco ASA 5500 Series security appliances that will increase its network speed and boost security. The company claims that coupled with its DDoS Protection Suite, Website Source now has one of the most secure networks in the web hosting industry.
Website Sources move comes as a response to an increase in cybercrime and particularly increased incidences of DDoS attacks. Website Source suggests attackers now use bot networks for DDoS attacks in an attempt to obtain confidential information. Successful DDoS attacks can reduce website performance and even make a site unobtainable. This can have a significant impact on a companys bottom line and cause long-term damage to a companys reputation. In a bid to protect its customers, Website Sources network architecture is designed to stop attacks before they can spread through a network.
"While some web hosting companies charge extra for advanced firewall protection, we are happy to offer it with every hosting plan we offer," said Stephanie Rosendahl, Founder and CEO of Website Source. "Our combination of an Advanced Cisco DDoS Protection Suite and two Cisco ASA 5500 Series firewalls results in increased performance and higher security for our clients' websites."
