Web Services Provider Black Point Arts Internet Solutions GmbH to Utilize IBM City Cloud for Faster IT Services
Web services provider Black Point Arts Internet Solutions GmbH is to utilize IBM City Cloud for faster IT services. IBM City Cloud represents a range of IBM and business partner offerings packaged as a program that users can shape to their own requirements. The program enables IBM's Managed Service Provider (MSP) business partners to run their own data center and offer customers IBM solutions-based cloud services.

Available in Germany since March of 2012, there are currently 50 German city cloud partners in IBM's program, which is now available in Austria with plans for expansion into further countries. Black Point will also utilize IBM Flex Systems for the expansion of its Cloud infrastructure. An early IBM Flex System adopter, the company's data center provides the foundation for the City Cloud in the Rhine-Main area of Germany, giving the company twelve slots that allow for rapid virtual server expansion, offering savings on hardware, software and services investment costs.

"We have about 50 customers in the Rhine-Main region who rely on our IT services from the City Cloud. In order to support our customers with flexible and high-performance IT services, we must meet the challenges related to the use, management and administration of our servers,” explained Black Point Arts' CEO, Dirk Estenfeld. "Therefore, we have expanded our data center with an IBM Flex System. This also leaves additional resources for other projects."
