November 17, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – The world’s second-largest web hosting provider, Freewebs, has announced a new Vice President of Engineering. Mitch Shue joins the company after extensive commercial software development experience from more than twenty years in the field. Prior to joining Freewebs Shue was Vice President of Product Development at webMethods, Inc. and responsible for the innovation at Advanced Technology Group.

Freewebs is a “free do-it-yourself’ host established in 2001. Shue will be responsible for “developing an engineering team that will spearhead and build upon the company’s heritage of technological innovation”. He will also be responsible for growing the company’s “FreewebsFarms” initiative – an “online collective for web 2.0 developers”. The company’s community currently consists of in excess of 11 million members.
