World's Largest Hosting Event Sees 150% Increase in Attendees

March 11, 2009
March 11, 2009 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – WebhostingDay - the “world's largest hosting event” - has seen a 150% increase in attendees of over the 2008 event, it was reported recently. In excess of “2,500 top representatives from 21 nations” have registered for the event, which takes place in Germany from March 18, 2009 to March 20, 2009. This is the fifth year of the event has taken place.

intergenia, the organizer, has partnered with around 50 companies to bring the event to the public. These include Microsoft, Intel, AMD, Parallels, Interxion, HP or Fujitsu Siemens Computers. The organizers suggest the success of the event “defies the world-wide financial crisis” and bucks a trend of reduced participation in other trade fairs such as CeBIT.

"The reasons are probably that WebhostingDay, due to its numerous partner companies as well as the great professional quality of its visitors, forms an optimal platform to meet the top players of the industry," explained Thomas Strohem, President of intergenia. "The who's who of the European hosting sector is going to visit WebhostingDay or exhibit there."

WebhostingDay will start with “the main.FORUM” where industry experts including Allen Clark from Microsoft, Shannon Poulin from Intel, Serguei Belloussov from Parallels and Jochen Polster from AMD will report on and discuss a range of web hosting issues. Afternoons will include the hosting.SESSIONs where speakers such as Michael Homborg from Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Lex Coors from Interxion discuss web hosting news and issues. The “hosting.FAIR” trade fair aspect to the event brings together companies who will present their products and services and “enter into close dialog with the visitors”. The second day will include CloudCamp where “early adopters of cloud computing techniques come together in order to exchange experiences, challenges and solutions”. The event also offers a range of networking and social events.
