Best host I've had
Got in on the ground floor, oct 2000 when they first went public. 5 domains including registration for just over $10 a month. Uptime is 100%. Service quick and polite. I'm a happy 1&1 camper.

Poor Service
I have used 1and1 for a few years. In the beginning it was fine but now my website constantly states internal server error messages. I have tried several times to get them to fix this and instead of fixing it they charged me more money per month!

Can not comment on Reliability nor Server Speed, never got to first base with them. They constantly switch parameters and goal-posts on you.
Tried to cancel my account, followed every step asked by them only to learn I have t call their support team.

After 3 years of struggling with 1&1 I have finally given up. it's been a nightmare from day 1. Their technical department based in the philipines have only basic knowledge and even the simplest of problems can't be sorted out.

Very good and reliable host, especially if you don't need a lot of support. Also great value for money, especially for domain names. So, if you e.g. sell/park domains through their sister company Sedo.com, nobody has a better deal for cheap .com domains.
