AIT Shatters Dedicated Pricing Barrier at $39 Per Month!

August 26, 2004
(Fayetteville, NC) – AIT, Inc. (http://ait.com) has broken new ground in the dedicated hosting arena by offering servers for just $39 per month. The Celeron-powered servers include plenty of RAM, disk space, and one terabyte (1,000 GB) of monthly data transfer. The lowering of the price bar is the continuation of the North Carolina-based hosting provider’s efforts to eliminate the barriers that small businesses confront face when mulling the value of a dedicated plan. “We’ve taken advantage of reduced hardware and bandwidth prices, and bundled them into a compelling option for cost-conscious SMB’s,” says Clarence Briggs, AIT’s Chief Executive Officer.

Multiple plans for multiple uses

This year, AIT has created a series of dedicated options that cater to varying business demands. There are self-managed and fully managed servers; plans for Linux, Windows, and Free BSD Operating Systems; a version with the EnsimPro software; and, packages for resellers as well as single sites. “Dedicated hosting has evolved from one or two standard plans to an almost a la carte system, where users pick the resources and capabilities they need, without paying for those they don’t,” said Chief Operating Officer Kirk deViere. “It’s the same approach that exists with all goods – there is a base product and the consumer finishes the packages to individual specifications.”

New products add to flexibility

To back up the hosting options, AIT has also released a series of bolt-on products and value-added services that speak to security, commerce, marketing, and convenience:

* Anti-spam service
* Server firewall
* Port monitoring
* E-mail marketing
* Per incident support
* Web site template store
* QuickSSL certificates

Continued development at AIT includes 2 more control panel software options, pro-active security scanning, and search engine optimization tools. AIT has been expanding its data center to accommodate both new dedicated customers and existing clients who have transitioned from shared hosting. “We’re adding new racks and servers by the hundreds,” says Briggs. “The thing we have to keep in mind is that getting customers in the door is the easy part; it’s after they’re on board that we really earn their business by backing up low-cost products with high-quality service.”
