Cloud Company iomart Acquires Managed Hosting Provider United Hosting
Cloud company iomart has acquired managed hosting provider United Hosting. iomart, which has head offices in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom, prides itself on enabling businesses to “operate their online data and IT environments safely and securely”. Iomart’s partners include companies like Amazon, EMC, Microsoft, and VMware, and its services extend to hybrid, private and public cloud platforms. United Hosting is the company’s second acquisition in 2015 and will cost the company £11 million ($16.5 million). iomart bought IT consultancy SystemsUp in June 2015.

Established in 1998, United Hosting has headquarters and a data center in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. The company caters to around 6,500 small-business customers with products and services that extend to managed, dedicated and shared hosting options alongside domain registration services. News of the acquisition comes in the wake of iomart receiving $93 million of funding in July of this year.

“This is a huge opportunity to develop and grow the business,” explained United Hosting’s Director, Matt Wallis. “We are now backed by one of the leading providers of managed hosting and cloud services in the UK as well as a company with all the regulatory and financial strength that comes with being listed on the London Stock Exchange.
