Cloud company the
iomart Group has launched "Host Your Kit", this year's version of the company's annual youth sports initiative. The company's sports campaign traditionally covers football, but this year will extend to basketball and be supported by Basketball Scotland.
iomart's Host Your Kit campaign is a competition that sees the company provide youth teams across England, Scotland and Wales free sports kit - a boon to teams that find it difficult to pay for such kit. Last year's campaign benefitted 30 football teams. With the help of sports retailers Gilmour Sports and Greaves Sports, this year's Host Your Kit will give away Spalding and adidas kit. “While Host Your Kit is about providing much needed sports kit to deserving youth teams during difficult economic times, it is also about spreading brand awareness,: explained iomart Group Director of Marketing, Phil Worms. "Host Your Kit takes our hosting message to an audience not normally associated with computing and IT. The response to last year’s football campaign was phenomenal and we wanted to expand it, so this year we’ve added basketball as it’s a fast growing sport in the cities in which we have a data centre presence. We believe this will provide us with new levels of engagement.”
