Cloud company
iomart Group PLC (iomart) has made managed AWS and Azure cloud services available on G-Cloud 7. iomart, which has headquarters in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom, bills itself as enabling businesses and other organizations to “operate their online data and IT environments safely and securely”. The company has a rich network of partners including companies like VMware, Amazon, EMC, and Microsoft, and its services extend to a “centrally managed, controlled and completely agnostic set of hybrid, private and public cloud platforms”. The company’s latest move makes more cloud-based services available to the public sector in the United Kingdom.
Established in 2012, the UK government's G-Cloud initiative is designed to help government bodies and related entities in the United Kingdom to select cloud computing information technology services. The G-Cloud 7 procurement framework went live on 23 November 2015. Public sector entities can buy services directly from providers listed on G-Cloud without the requirement to engage in a full procurement process. Iomart has made managed AWS, managed Azure and managed Office 365 services that are supported by its own experts available to local and central government via G-Cloud 7.
"Cloud services are helping to transform digital delivery across the public sector,” explained iomart’s CEO, Angus MacSween. “We have invested in the accreditations, expertise and network capacity to support organizations across government. As well as easily accessible and fully managed services we have a team of high level consultants who can help design the strategy to get you into the cloud."
