Cloud Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting provider RamNode LLC (RamNode) has been acquired by
InMotion Hosting (InMotion). Based in El Segundo, California, InMotion was established in 2001. As well as VPS hosting, the company’s services include shared and WordPress hosting alongside dedicated servers and private cloud options such as ‘OpenStack Private Clouds’. Its acquisition of RamNode was made by InMotion’s acquisition division, WebVentures.io. Financial aspects of the deal have not been released.
RamNode was founded in 2012 and has headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The company specializes in VPS and cloud hosting, especially “high-performance cloud virtual servers” that are available through its presence in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Seattle, and the Netherlands (where it utilizes Dataplace’s Dutch colocation facilities). The news comes on the heels of the company’s recent acquisitions of W3 Total Cache, Elegant Marketplace, and Sprout Invoices.
RаmNode’s stаff will be absorbed by InMotion and Nick Adams, RamNode’s CEO, will leave the company. It is expected RamNode will continue operating as an independent brand and maintain its current product and service offerings. The acquisition enables InMotion to add RаmNode’s considerable customer base to its books and strengthens its technical know-how.
