DreamHost’s new and current DreamPress customers are to benefit from Automattic’s Jetpack Premium Service. Established in 1997,
DreamHost is a WordPress hosting specialist with headquarters in Los Angeles, California, United States. The company offers a broad range of cloud services including shared hosting, Virtual Private Servers (VPS), and dedicated servers. The company also offers DreamObjects - a cloud storage service, and DreamCompute - a cloud computing service. Jetpack Premium is being added at no additional charge to DreamPress users.
Jetpack is a plugin that makes WordPress “more secure, easier to use, and more accessible to the world”. Automattic’s free Jetpack plugin has been available to DreamPress customers for some time. The premium Jetpack service offers additional functionality on top of free options that include “an image CDN, in-depth site statistics, SEO tools, downtime monitoring, and a variety of other feature enhancements”. The additional features include a video CDN, robust spam protection, daily VaultPress backups, and automated daily malware scans. Normally the premium service costs $99 a year, but although it is now offered as a free standard to DreamPress customers, it still offers “direct access to WordPress security experts at Automattic”.
“We know what we’re doing,” explained Director of Product, Managed WordPress at DreamHost, John Robison. “You can’t put a price on an incredible WordPress user experience. When we first heard about what Jetpack Premium could do, we knew that it was a perfect match for DreamPress and that we had to bring it to our customers – whatever the cost!”
