iomart Group plc (AIM:IOM), is delighted to announce that Crawford Beveridge C.B.E. will join the company as Non-Executive Director following the AGM taking place later today (29 September 2011).
Crawford Beveridge brings with him 40 years’ worth of experience in the technology industry, including 16 years at Sun Microsystems (“Sun”), where he was Executive Vice President and Chairman, EMEA, APAC and the Americas, until his retirement in January 2010.
Mr Beveridge was Chief Executive of Scottish Enterprise for nine years until 2000, having been invited by the Scottish Office to head up the newly created economic and business development agency.
He is currently chairman of the investment advisory board at Scottish Equity Partners. His other board roles include Non-Executive Director of Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, a subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd, and Non-Executive Chairman of NASDAQ listed Autodesk. He was born in Edinburgh and splits his time between California and Scotland.

Crawford Beveridge’s appointment was unveiled as iomart Group plc issued a pre-close trading update to the market ahead of the announcement of its half yearly results for the six months to 30 September 2011. iomart announced that it had performed strongly and is confident that the financial performance of the Group will be ahead of current market expectations.

iomart Group plc also announced that Fred Shedden will step down as Non-Executive Director after 11 years with the company, following today’s AGM.
