HostAfrica has announced the acquisition of Zanode.co.za, a South African application hosting platform designed around GitHub-based deployments, managed PostgreSQL, and pricing in South African Rand (ZAR).
The acquisition expands HostAfrica’s hosting portfolio beyond traditional shared hosting, reseller hosting, and VPS services, adding a developer-focused application platform for agencies, software development companies, SaaS teams, and independent developers serving the South African market.
Zanode provides a deployment workflow designed to connect development environments more directly with production infrastructure. Customers can connect a GitHub repository and deploy applications using framework auto-detection or Dockerfiles. The platform also provides managed PostgreSQL databases, custom domains, and automated SSL.
The service runs on infrastructure in South Africa and uses ZAR-denominated pricing, providing a locally focused alternative for development teams that may otherwise rely on international Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) providers and offshore infrastructure.

The acquisition comes as AI-assisted software development continues to accelerate development cycles, increasing the importance of automated deployment workflows, frequent code changes, and reliable Git-to-production processes.
Zanode is designed around this development model, providing a deployment environment where development teams can move applications from Git repositories to production infrastructure without relying on traditional file-based hosting workflows.
