Managed hosting and cloud computing provider
iomart has been selected for the G-Cloud iii Framework - also known as G-Cloud.
With headquarters in Glasgow, Scotland, the iomart Group PLC delivers and manages hosting services that cater for customers who need 100% guaranteed uptime to meet mission-critical requirements. The company has a number of subsidiaries, including Melbourne Server Hosting, RapidSwitch, Easyspace and iomartcloud. It already works with a number of public sector customers, including UK councils and education providers, but as part of G-Cloud is likely to acquire more.
G-Cloud was established by the United Kingdom government to promote cloud computing and encourage its use. It consists of a catalogue of Cloud ICT suppliers that have been pre-approved by the UK government. This allows the UK's public sector to acquire cloud services quickly and easily, and without disrupting services. iomart is listed as a supplier of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS); and Software as a Service (SaaS).
"We are delighted that our tender for inclusion in the newest version of G Cloud has been successful," explained iomart Group's CEO Angus MacSween. "G-Cloud provides a different route to doing business with the public sector in the UK and we look forward to the opportunity to deliver our expertise and capabilities across the full range of cloud and managed IT services".
