Melbicom Expands Infrastructure Portfolio with New Marseille Location
The new Mediterranean location offers dedicated servers, Cloud VPS, custom hardware and CDN services, connecting customers across Southern Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

VILNIUS, Lithuania – October 12, 2026 – Melbicom, an EU-headquartered infrastructure operator, has opened its Marseille location for orders, adding dedicated servers, Cloud VPS, custom hardware and a new point of presence (PoP) for its Premium and Volume CDN networks. The expansion provides customers with another deployment option in Southern Europe, with dedicated server network ports available at speeds of up to 100 Gbps.

Marseille Strengthens Regional and International Connectivity

Marseille is a strategic interconnection hub for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), as well as a gateway for connections to Asia. Its connectivity ecosystem combines European terrestrial networks with major subsea cable systems, including AAE-1, SEA-ME-WE 4 and PEACE.

According to TeleGeography's July 2026 analysis, Marseille ranks sixth worldwide in international Internet capacity, with more than 100 Tbps of connectivity across international borders.

The city's peering infrastructure includes France-IX Marseille, which reports more than 120 connected networks, and DE-CIX Marseille. These Internet exchanges enable networks to exchange traffic directly, potentially reducing reliance on third-party transit providers and improving routing efficiency and latency.

Integrated Global Network with Local Benefits

Melbicom's Marseille location is connected to its Frankfurt and Singapore locations through the company's own backbone network, keeping traffic between these sites on-net. This integration gives customers a Mediterranean deployment point with connections to Europe and Asia while enhancing connectivity for existing customers using these routes.

The expansion reflects Melbicom's continued investment in network performance, routing efficiency and reduced latency across its infrastructure.

The new CDN point of presence also brings cached content closer to regional audiences. Video streaming platforms, software distributors and businesses delivering large files can use the Marseille PoP to improve content delivery, while keeping their origin servers in other locations.

Latency-sensitive services, including fintech applications and APIs, can also benefit from the expanded backbone connectivity without requiring their application servers or primary data stores to be relocated.

Cloud Connectivity and EU Data Residency Options

Marseille's broader infrastructure ecosystem provides access to private connectivity options for cloud platforms, supporting enterprises developing hybrid-cloud environments and disaster-recovery strategies.

The new location also gives organizations another hosting option within France and the European Union. Businesses with French or EU data-residency requirements can consider deploying regional workloads in Marseille while serving customers across the Mediterranean region.

Dedicated Servers, Cloud VPS and CDN Services

Melbicom's Marseille infrastructure offers four main service categories to meet different deployment requirements:

Dedicated Servers: Bare-metal infrastructure with network ports of up to 100 Gbps for applications requiring dedicated computing resources and high network throughput.

Cloud VPS: Virtual servers for websites, regional applications and supporting infrastructure.

Premium and Volume CDN: A Marseille PoP on both CDN networks for distributing cacheable content, including video, software releases and large files.

Custom Hardware: Configurable server builds based on processor, memory, storage and networking requirements, with AMD or Intel CPUs, NVMe storage and optional GPUs.

Customers deploying dedicated servers or custom hardware can also use Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Bring Your Own IP (BYOIP) options to manage routing policies and use their own IP address space.

Custom configurations and deployment schedules can be discussed directly with Melbicom to accommodate specific workload requirements and capacity needs.

Availability

Melbicom's dedicated servers and Cloud VPS services in Marseille are available to order, while the new CDN point of presence is operational on both its Premium and Volume networks.

Customers interested in custom hardware can contact Melbicom with their technical specifications, expected traffic profile and preferred deployment date. Further information is available through Melbicom's Marseille infrastructure and CDN pages, with deployment inquiries handled by the company's team.
