Formerly known as Atlas, ASP.NET AJAX 1.0 is, according to Microsoft, a “set of technologies to add AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript And XML) support to ASP.NET. It consists of a client-side script framework, server controls, and more.” The solution allows programmers to create interactive web content more efficiently. The advantage of the solution to programmers is that AJAX offers remote access to services and data from the web browser reducing the reliance of the host server and making operation more effective.
