Web Werks has received an award from the Civil Service in India. Web Werks has headquarters in Mumbai, India and is recognized as “one of the leading data center providers in India”. Established in 1996, the company operates 5 Tier III and Tier IV data centers and has a presence in the United States.
With around 5,000 customers, Web Werks’ services extend to cloud and VPS hosting, dedicated servers and colocation. It is also an ICANN registered domain providers. A portal designed by Web Werks for the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) received the award.
The Civil Service awarded the MPCB its best practices, which included the 'Ease of Doing Business' project. Starting a new industry in Maharashtra requires a range of permissions from the MPCB, particularly for industries that release “intoxicants in land, water or air, in any form”. The project saw the development of a web portal designed to “streamline the process of consent application for commencing industries in Maharashtra”.
The web portal simplifies procedures and speeds up industrialization processes by enabling online consent of approval applications. The online process minimizes human involvement and makes delivering certificates to industries faster – the period of consent was reduced from 120 days to 60 days.
