Web Host Advanced Internet Technologies, Inc. Offers AlphaSSL Discounts
Web host Advanced Internet Technologies, Inc. (AIT.com) is offering discounts of 33% on its AlphaSSL certificates. The company, which was founded in 1995 by current CEO and military veteran Clarence E. Briggs III, has made the move as a response to information posted on Google's blog in August of this year. The blog implied that Google now gives ranking precedence for websites that use SSL certificates and the resulting domain name HTTPS prefix.

HTTPS/SSL provides a layer to trust as far as websites users are concerned. Customers know that sites with SSL certificates are trustworthy, and they are more likely to use credit cards and share sensitive information through the interface of such sites. As a result of this level of trust, Google has added SSL certificate usage to its ranking algorithm.

“...over the past few months we’ve been running tests taking into account whether sites use secure, encrypted connections as a signal in our search ranking algorithms,” explained Gary Illyes and Zineb Ait Bahajji writing on the Google blog. “We’ve seen positive results, so we’re starting to use HTTPS as a ranking signal.”
