Web host and data center services provider Whitelabel ITSolutions has announced its support for National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) in the United States. The Hackensack, New Jersey-based provider offers a one-stop shop which includes a full suite of services. NCSAM takes place every year for the entire month of October. It represents a partnership between government and industry and is designed to highlight the need to remain safe online. As explained on the U.S. Department of Homeland Security website, “Held every October, National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) is a collaborative effort between government and industry to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity and to ensure that all Americans have the resources they need to be safer and more secure online.”

‘Cybersecurity’ is a term given to efforts to stop online data breaches and the efforts of hackers and other malicious actors intent on stealing sensitive data. Several approaches are used by such parties including the spreading of viruses, injection of malicious codes, and sharing malware. Alongside other approaches, protection methods include “identity, risk and incident management, firewalls, encryption, software patches”.
