July 22, 2008 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Web host and domain name provider Easyspace (http://www.easyspace.com/) is offering .me domains, it was reported recently. .me, the Country Code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) for Montenegro, was officially launched for open registrations on July 17, 2008.
"We've had a number of new extension launches in the recent past, including the likes of .mobi, and .eu, but most have come with some registration restrictions, such as location for .eu, explained Easyspace Sales and Marketing Director, Mr. Errol Vanderhorst. With .me being open to absolutely everyone on a first come first serve, and with its obvious potential for personal users and marketing campaigns, I expect that its popularity will only grow in strength over the coming months."
The .me extension went through its Sunrise and Land Rush periods around May and uptake has been extremely good, some suggest driven by the extensions suitability for personal websites. Requirements of the .me registry mean domains can be registered for a minimum 2 year up to a maximum 10 year period.
Easyspace, which bills itself as one of the largest web hosting and domain name providers in the UK, offers domains with a range of extensions including .com, .co.uk, .info, .eu, org and .net, alongside numerous Country Code Domain names.
