HostGator has announced it is offering free domain name registration with its key hosting plans. HostGator, which was established in 2002, has headquarters in Houston, Texas, United States alongside a presence in Austin, Texas. The company bills itself as offering “web hosting made easy and affordable” and specializes in several hosting areas. These include traditional web hosting alongside Virtual Private Server (VPS), reseller, and Windows hosting options. It also provides dedicated servers alongside managed WordPress and cloud hosting options. HostGator’s move to offer free domains enhances what are already excellent value hosting packages with a host of features.
The promotion is only available to new customers and available to users who purchase hosting accounts for 12 months or more. A domain, including those with ‘.com’, ‘.net’ and ‘.org’ suffixes, must be registered during the hosting signup process and will be free for an initial 12-month period after which customers will be charged. HostGator’s plans are very cost-effective. HostGator offers three main hosting choices: It’s ‘Hatchling’ plans, ‘Baby’ plans, and ‘Business’ plans. Each offers unlimited bandwidth and SSL certificates, while the ‘Business’ plan offers a free upgrade to ‘Positive SSL’, a free dedicated IP and free SEO tools. Plans start at only $2.75 per month and go up to $5.95 per month.
