Web Host Site5 Acquires IX Web Hosting
Web host Site5 has acquired IX Web Hosting. Site5, which was established in 1998, is an Endurance International Group (EIG) brand. The company bills itself as “hosting for serious web designers” and has head offices in Austin, Texas, United States. It offers a range of hosting-related products and services including standard hosting, reseller hosting, and fully managed VPS options. Its services are underpinned by unmetered bandwidth and disk space, free migrations, disaster recovery backups, and ongoing support.

EIG is one of the biggest hosting groups in the industry and is made up of brands that include big names like HostGator, Bluehost, Constant Contact, ResellerClub, and CirtexHosting alongside a number of lesser known companies. In total, the company manages 83 brands. Site5’s acquisition of IX Web Hosting was a result of it acquiring the assets of Columbus, Ohio-based Ecommerce, LLC for around $24 million.

Site5 is in the process of absorbing IX Web Hosting customer accounts. While the acquisition has only recently been reported, it actually took place in 2015. News of IX Web Hosting’s transition was only recently reported on Site5’s website.
