Web Host SiteGround Adopts StorPool for Container-based Hosting Options
Web host SiteGround has adopted StorPool for its container-based hosting options. SiteGround, whose head offices are located in Sofia, Bulgaria, was established in 2004. The company offers a range of services including shared hosting, cloud hosting, dedicated hosting and reseller hosting. Traditionally it has focused on hosting services for Open Source solutions such as WordPress, Joomla and Magento. Its introduction of StorPool’s distributed storage solution has helped the company achieve “hundreds of times faster performance”.

Established in 2011, StorPool focuses on making storage “simpler yet more effective and affordable”. The company offers “block-level, distributed storage software” that facilitates a fast and efficient software-defined storage solution (SDS solution). SiteGround partnered with StorPool based on its proven reliability and affordability. By adopting StorPool’s offerings the company has been able to reduce downtime to “next to none”. The investment has also allowed it to save money on a traditional storage array.

“One of the key differentiators between SiteGround’s enterprise web hosting services and other solutions on the market is our extreme cost-effectiveness without compromising on power and resilience,” explained SiteGround’s CEO Tenko Nikolov. “We consistently hit top results in our regular performance benchmarks and back that up with a 99.99% or higher SLAs. Using StorPool along with a low-latency and high bandwidth InfiniBand network allows us to match the speed of local SSD storage, which is amazing”.
