Web Hosting and Internet Service Provider EarthLink to Cater for Information Boulevard’s Customers

August 17, 2007
August 17, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting and Internet Service Provider EarthLink has agreed to cater for “total Internet solution” provider Information Boulevard’s customers with Internet Services, it was announced this week. According to a report on the Hornell Evening Tribune Online, the move comes as Information Boulevard changes its business focus to web design and web hosting. The company will stop providing Internet services by the end of August, and has invited EarthLink to provide services for its customers.

“The economic and financial forces from some of the bigger companies pretty much made this necessary,” Hornell Evening Tribune quoted owner Frank Spitulnik as saying. “If we didn't take this action to find a good provider and negotiate a package for our customer base, it would only have been a matter of time before we wouldn't have been able to provide service. In other cases, competitors went out of business and their customers woke up to find out they had no Internet service, which is exactly what we didn't want to do.”

Atlanta-based EarthLink caters to “more than 5 million subscribers” and after a merger with MindSpring Enterprises in February 2000, became the second-largest Internet provider in the United States. Mr. Spitulnik told the Hornell Evening Tribune that Information Boulevard’s web hosting customers won't be impacted by the changes. “That's the side of the business that's growing,” he said. “Our web design is doing well, on a national basis.”
