November 29, 2005 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Web hosting provider AIT (http://ait.com) is opening a 45-seat gaming center at its headquarters in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The center will offer a monitor-based gaming experience aimed to attract a wide audience including military personnel from Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base, both located in Fayetteville.
AITs center will open in a few days time and feature high-speed servers tied into an OC fiber network. The key to gaming success for players is speed, and our network provides that, said Clarence Briggs, AITs Chief Executive Officer. Once players come in and try it out, theyll be hooked and we can put leagues and tournaments into motion.
The center will kick off with a holiday tournament where a percentage of proceeds will go to military support groups. Alongside military personnel, AIT will be targeting members of the public in the 1530 age group. Gaming is a high-growth industry; just look at all the advertising for new games and the hype around the latest version of the X-box, said Briggs. This center is an X-box on hyper-steroids, where players can compete with people around the world in real-time. And, its a true entertainment destination in the downtown area.
