August 8, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider CrystalTech has been awarded Type 1 certification under Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) No. 70 - an internationally recognized auditing standard. Developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, SAS 70 is awarded to organizations that have undergone an “in-depth audit of their control activities” including controls over information technology and related processes. The examination was conducted by Grant Thornton, LLP.

The SAS 70 audit is part of a series of approaches Newtek (CrystalTech’s parent body) is employing to “build a better business” and demonstrate its “commitment to quality, continuous improvement, business transparency and risk management”.
