DreamHost has added a ‘Create’ feature to ‘Remixer’ - its proprietary website builder launched in February last year. With head offices in Los Angeles, California, United States, DreamHost offers a range of options, but has a focus on WordPress solutions. The company’s options include its proprietary ‘DreamObjects’ cloud storage service and ‘DreamCompute’ cloud computing services alongside shared hosting, Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting and dedicated server options. It also offers domain name registration. The new feature includes a new “color-matching technology” and enables “users to quickly iterate on design ideas before inputting content”.
Create is designed for users with “limited coding and design experience”. It allows people working with Remixer to consider how the different elements of a website design fit together “to form a unified website look and feel”. Create offers three core layouts and users choose a color palette and groups of fonts before adding images. The color-matching technology automatically makes changes to colors, photos and fonts to give users an indication of how they might fit together before finalizing a design.
“With more than 20 years of website hosting experience, we know that matching imagery to the overall color palette of a website makes for a more polished and professional look,” explained Vice President of Product, Remixer at DreamHost, Ralph Castro. “We’re constantly looking for ways to make it faster and easier for users see the possibilities for their websites, without the need for specialized coding and design skills.”
