January 29, 2008 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Web hosting provider Easyspace (http://www.easyspace.com) has announced the winner of its "Worst Website" competition. www.advertising-calendars.com beat 500 other entries to gain the title and receive a website makeover worth up to 3000 UK pounds ($5,952). On hearing news of his site winning the competition, its owner, a Mr. Godding, was quoted as saying, "I am absolutely delighted that my website has been voted the winner of Britain's 'Ugliest Website', and wish to thank everyone who has voted for me!"
"We contacted Mr Godding late on Monday afternoon to let him know of his win," explained Easyspaces Sales and Marketing Director, Mr. Errol Vanderhorst. "He seemed thrilled at the news and we are delighted to now be able to help him, and hopefully his business, by delivering an extensive website re-design worth up to £3000".
Easyspaces competition required entrants to write why their website needed the prize. Easyspace selected finalists based on site design and the reasons owners gave. Easyspace.com users were invited to place their votes for each of the finalists.
