May 26, 2007 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Web hosting provider Easyspace has launched a new Data Center in London, the company announced recently. The company, that bills itself as one of Europe's largest web hosting companies will open a new high-specification data centre in center of the City of London.
The 16,000 sq ft data centre is close to Londons Liverpool Street Station and part of a 4.5m pound acquisition by Easyspaces parent body, Iomart. It was specifically constructed for server hosting and colocation and offers a state-of-the-art environment and security control system, fully redundant power and market-leading network infrastructure. The new center complements existing centers in London, Glasgow and Nottingham. Additional centers in Leicester and Leeds will open this year.
"The servers it will house are the drivers of the internet, and the customers who will buy space are literally buying their virtual worldwide shopfronts, explained Iomarts Marketing Manager, Mr. Phil Worms. "There is a serious shortage of data space at the moment, and that makes this such a good opportunity for us."
"Recent predictions indicate that existing UK carrier neutral data centre capacity will effectively run out this year, added Easyspaces Managing Director, Sarah Haran. "The banks and financial institutions in the City have to store huge volumes of data simply to do business, and having that data nearby in a secure environment is of great benefit. This is a totally new facility and we have not been restricted in its design by any legacy equipment or operations. We have therefore been able to build this facility to incorporate all the critical data management and business continuity features that organizations require both today and tomorrow."
