Hetzner Online is now offering a server auction in addition to its portfolio of mainstream hosting products. Models of servers with used hardware will be auctioned online at
www.serverbidding.com in the form of a "Dutch Auction".
Prices for the leased servers up for auction are periodically lowered within a defined timeframe.
Potential bidders can set their own desired hardware specifications, see the current price of the products available and view details of the next change in price.
"It isn't always easy finding the right price for a special kind of server configuration - therefore, we start by offering the servers at a slightly higher market rate and periodically lower the price. When the price matches what the bidder has in mind, they need to act quickly before someone else snaps up the bargain,“ says Hetzner Marketing Manager, Christian Fitz.
