Web Werks) has achieved a key certification for one of its data centers. Web Werks has headquarters in Mumbai, India, and caters to around 5,000 customers globally. The company, which was established in 1996, is recognized as being one of India’s leading data center providers. A “carrier neutral” provider, Web Werks provides a range of hosting services including cloud and VPS hosting, dedicated servers and colocation. It operates five Tier III and Tier IV data centers and has facilities in the United States. The company has achieved PCI DSS certification for its IBM-built Tier 4 data center in Mumbai.
PCI DSS (v3.1), or more formally, the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), is an international standard for companies that manage credit cards and collect information for Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and JCB payments. The achievement sits alongside Web Werks’ ISO 9001, 20000-1, 22301 and 27001 security accreditations and allows the company’s ecommerce, banking, financial services and insurance customers to operate with the levels of security needed to “protect sensitive cardholder data and meet PCI DSS compliance standards for their business”.
