January 29, 2007 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Some web hosting providers believe the latest version of DotNetNuke an Open Source web application framework designed for the Microsoft ASP.NET platform offers a number of performance benefits on the versions predecessor. Version 4.4 of DotNetNuke is a product of six months of highly-focused performance tuning making it twice as fast as earlier versions.
"Exceptional performance and scalability is a fundamental requirement of any enterprise software platform," explained Co-Founder and CEO of DotNetNuke Corporation (http://www.dotnetnuke.com), Mr. Shaun Walker. "I am very proud of the framework optimizations we were able to achieve in our most recent release cycle. By focusing on the extreme challenges and constraints of a shared hosting environment we were able to deliver superior performance improvements for all stakeholder scenarios. These optimizations would not have been possible without assistance from Microsoft and I am extremely grateful of their ongoing commitment to the DotNetNuke project and community."
DotNetNuke 4.4 was load-tested, analyzed, and refactored to optimize its core engine. Alongside being twice as responsive as previous versions, it consumes around half the memory. "DotNetNuke 4.4 has increased base performance while significantly reducing the amount of memory usage each installation consumes," added Mr. Robert Cichon, President of CrystalTech Web Hosting, Inc. "Apart from the benefits we see server-side, this performance increase offers a significant reduction in page load times, which translates to more visitors staying on an end-user's site."
