Web Werks’ Data Center First in Asia to Have OIX-1 Certified IXP in an OIX-2 Certified Facility
Web Werks India Pvt. Ltd. (Web Werks) has announced its data center is the first in Asia to have an OIX-1 certified IXP in an OIX-2 certified facility. Web Werks, which has head offices in Mumbai, India, is a “carrier neutral” provider offering hosting services that include cloud and VPS hosting, dedicated servers and colocation. Established in 1996, the company caters to around 5,000 customers worldwide. It operates PCI DSS-certified Tier III and Tier IV data centers in the United States and India. Web Werks has also announced its full compliance with requirements to be a full OpenIX supporter.

Open-IX OIX-2 Certification is a global certification for data centers that want to serve as points of network interconnection. The certification addresses issues such as minimum level of service, Service Level Agreements (SLA) and data center engineering. It was “developed by the broad consensus of world-class data center managers, engineers and their customers” to set standards for massive-scale interconnection. Achieving it validates the infrastructure security, reliability, and quality of services at Web Werks’ data center. Web Werks is a “proud supporter of OIX and supports fair, reasonable and transparent interconnections and open peering”.

"It makes us proud to be the first data center in all of Asia to have OIX-2 and host a OIX-1 certified IXP Mumbai-IX from OpenIX,” explained Web Werks’ CEO Nikhil Rathi. “This means that we offer the best data centers in terms of infrastructure, connectivity, reliability, technical support, datacenter interconnection and peering."
