WordPress and Managed WooCommerce Specialist Liquid Web Acquires WordPress Plugins and Tools Provider iThemes
WordPress and managed WooCommerce specialist Liquid Web has acquired WordPress plugins and tools provider iThemes. Liquid Web has headquarters in Lansing, Michigan, United States and has a client base that includes more than 30,000 customers in 150 countries. The company provides a broad range of web hosting products and services, which extend to Linux and Windows hosting alongside cloud storage, managed dedicated server hosting and VPS cloud options. Liquid Web and iThemes partnered last year offering iThemes’ Sync Pro with Liquid Web's managed WordPress packages. By acquiring iThemes Liquid Web is maintaining its focus on managed WordPress services. Financial aspects of the deal have not been released.

iThemes has headquarters in Edmond, Oklahoma, United States. The company bills itself as “one of the leaders in producing high-quality premium WordPress plugins for all.” Its WordPress plugins include BackupBuddy, iThemes Security Pro, and Sync and iThemes Sales Accelerator – a multiple site management solution. iThemes has been an independent company for over ten years, and will remain independent post acquisition, maintaining its workforce and the company’s founder Cory Miller in his General Manager position. After the acquisition iThemes’ other products and services will be integrated with Liquid Web's WordPress packages.

"The acquisition of iThemes supports Liquid Web's mission to empower web professionals worldwide and further demonstrates our commitment to being a leader in the WordPress and WooCommerce marketplace," explained Liquid Web's CEO, Jim Geiger. “We believe that the combination of the Liquid Web and iThemes teams and products will be very beneficial to our Managed WordPress hosting customers and our newly launched Managed WooCommerce Hosting product, the industry's first platform dedicated to WooCommerce Stores.I look forward to bringing in WordPress expert Cory Miller to help our company shape our Managed WordPress and Managed WooCommerce hosting strategies."
