Cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider
CloudSigma and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) cloud migration solution provider CloudLeap have formed a partnership. The partnership will enable the companies' customers to manage live migrations from on-premise infrastructure or third-party cloud platforms to CloudSigma’s public cloud. The move also ensures CloudLeap customers benefit from failover options supported by CloudSigma’s platform.
CloudSigma, which is based in Zurich, Switzerland, specializes in providing "enterprise-class" hybrid cloud servers and cloud hosting solutions for the European and US markets. The company's cloud solutions enable its customers to control what they add to their cloud and the resources they utilize. They also allow customers to extend private networks out of existing infrastructure.
Based in Mumbai, India, CloudLeap has sales offices in UAE, Singapore, Malaysia, Switzerland and USA. The company provides cloud solutions, but specializes on helping its customers migrate to the cloud. Its SaaS technology creates a "snapshot" of its customers' servers before loading them to its cloud infrastructure. This means migration "can be completed in a matter of hours, instead of the days, weeks or even months".
“This partnership comes at a strategic time in the IaaS industry’s development,” explained the CEO of CloudSigma, Robert Jenkins. “With Rackspace moving away from its IaaS role to focus more on managed services, there are many companies contacting us looking for an easy way to migrate their VMs to a provider like CloudSigma instead of opting for Rackspace’s much more expensive managed hosting offering. Our new integration with CloudLeap allows them to achieve that quickly, easily and with little or no disruption to running services.”
