Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider
Leaseweb has chosen maincubes’ AMS01 facility to expand its data center presence globally. Established in 1997, Leaseweb leverages solutions such as VMware and Microsoft Azure to offer a broad range of services. To name a few these include public, private and hybrid cloud options alongside bare metal servers and dedicated servers. With more than 18,000 customers “ranging from SMBs to enterprises” the company “operates 20 data centers in locations across Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America”. It has a number of subsidiaries of which Leaseweb Netherlands B.V. is one. Located in Amsterdam, Netherlands, maincubes’ AMS01 data center offers a strategic location for expanding Leaseweb’s data center presence.
maincubes is part of ‘Art-Invest’ - a German investor and real estate developer that is itself part of the Zech Group. Alongside Amsterdam maincubes has data centers in Frankfurt, Germany. The company’s European data centers provide “colocation services and secure ecosystems for the digital future of customers across various industries.” maincubes’ global IT services include Internet of Things (IoT) options, cyber security services, and cloud services. AMS01 met Leaseweb’s requirements for “energy-efficiency, compliance and high-redundancy” and offers the scalability Leaseweb needs to grow. Security and “price/quality ratios” were also key to the company’s choice.
“maincubes is one of the few independent European colocation data center operators still left in the Amsterdam area, and is a company that has the same entrepreneurial spirit as Leaseweb,” explained Leaseweb Netherlands’ Managing Director, Arno Witvliet. “We like their pure-play colocation focus, as well as the data center amenities they have in place, like an N+1+1 generator infrastructure setup, for example. It fits the high-quality and high-availability standards Leaseweb has set for the hosting solutions we deliver from our data centers globally.”
“Our data center infrastructures are engineered for market-leading companies, with a keen eye for detail meeting enterprise requirements,” added maincubes’ CEO, Oliver Menzel. “We proudly welcome Leaseweb to our Amsterdam facility as a market leader on a global level, and we appreciate their acknowledgment of the high-standard data center quality being established.”
